THE PLAGUE OF THE DEATH OF THE FIRST-BORN
Exodus 11: 1-10The Lord God, because of his great patience, predicted to Pharaoh hardened that there would be the plague of darkness and misery to the Egyptians. But the hardened Pharaoh king was not listening. What did God do?
1) All the first-born unto cattle perish
The Lord wanted to persuade the Egyptians because of his patience, but Pharaoh still did not listen. As the Lord is holy, he can not let this evil. At the cost of living, he wanted to save him and bend the Egyptians. The Lord announced the death of all the firstborn, the one of Pharaoh, the ones of the workers unto the firstborn of cattle. But God said He will separate the Israelites so that they do not suffer any harm.
2) Pharaoh did not let the Israelites go
The book's author says that despite all these misfortunes were announced because of his stubbornness, Pharaoh would not let them go out of his land. Those who advance their stubbornness, their power by ignoring the life, personality and happiness of others are like Pharaoh, very uneducated.
Prayer: Lord, one who relies solely on his power ignoring the life and personality of others is the most cruel and merciless person in history. You know that we are bad, cover us, melt us with the word of grace.
One Word: Should we really be up to suffer the scourge of the firstborn?
