NOW THEREFORE, GO
Exodus 4: 10-23
The humble heart is a virtue of the christian. The opposition and the excuse of Moses in front of the call of God comes from his insistence on his disability. If we insist too much on our disability, we make two kinds of sin:
1) wickedness and laziness
2) negligence of the power of God
He who pretends to be humble to cover his laziness can not do great things or avoid the wrath of God. Have a heavy heart when someone asks me a job is a proof that I am in sin. Moses was in sin. If he had believed in the power of God, he could do great things. Instead of that he delivered a very proud word "send whoever you want" to God. What was the error of Moses?
1) Moses took lightly God's call
God never calls someone beyond his or her capacity. But Moses was deep in his consciousness of himself instead of believing in God and doing great things for Him
2) Moses took lightly God's promise
He did not really believe, as God promised that his brother Aaron would support him. In fact, he should not really need his brother's help.
Are you immersed in your self-awareness, or do you walk firmly believing in his calling and his promise?
Prayer: Lord, because of our self-awareness, we often fall into sin. Now I will give my full attention to your call
One word: the self-awareness is a sin.
